Ink types
Our studio uses only the highest quality inks, including eco-friendly water-based inks and vibrant, long-lasting plastisol inks, plus specialty inks to ensure your apparel is what you envision.
Plastisol ink is a popular choice for screen printing as it is highly opaque, durable, and has a wide range of colors available. It is also a great option for printing on synthetic fabrics, as it adheres well and produces vibrant, long-lasting prints.
Water-based ink is a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional plastisol ink and produces a softer, more breathable print. It is also great for printing on light-colored fabrics and gives a vintage or "worn-in" look to the print.
Puff ink is a special type of ink that is used to create a raised, puff effect on printed designs, resulting in a three-dimensional look to the print. Puff ink is often used for designs that feature large text and/or artwork without fine details.
Four-color process is when the artwork is created and then separated into four colors (CMYK) which combine to create the full spectrum of colors needed for photographic prints. This means a large number of colors can be simulated using only 4 screens, reducing costs, time, and set-up. The inks are required to blend and are more translucent, meaning a compromise with vibrancy.

Four friends. Two couples. One family.
Six12 started with a casual conversation between Jon and Joe, two brother-in-laws each agreeing to cover half the cost of a printing press and the basics to begin. After months of learning and several washed out prints, we opened up doors officially at the beginning of twenty-twenty one, a few months after starting on June 12th, 2020.
We're family, quite literally, Jonathan and his wife Gloria both run production and financials, while Jess and Joe handle Sales, Marketing, and Childcare. Printing out of two car garage in a single-family home, we understand using what you have to keep the vision moving ahead.
